Our Practice
Practice areas
Experienced criminal defense across the full range of charges, in Missouri state and municipal courts.
Traffic Tickets
It is easy to just pay a ticket and be done with it — but paying it is a guilty plea, and the points go on your license. Enough points and your insurance climbs or you lose the ability to drive at all. Most tickets can be amended to a non-moving violation that keeps your record clean, usually without you ever setting foot in a courtroom.
DWI
A DWI puts your license and your freedom at risk in two separate proceedings at once — the criminal case and an administrative action against your driving privileges, each with its own deadlines. We look hard at the reason for the stop, how the field sobriety testing was administered, the breath instrument and its maintenance records, and whether procedure was followed at every step.
Drug Charges
From simple possession to drug trafficking, drug charges carry severe penalties including mandatory minimums. We examine search and seizure procedures, challenge evidence handling, and explore every avenue for dismissed or reduced charges. Our approach is thorough and aggressive.
Assault
Missouri charges assault in degrees, from a misdemeanor up to a serious felony, and which degree you face often turns on details the police report gets wrong. We investigate what actually happened, raise self-defense where it applies, and hold the State to proving every element of the degree it chose to charge.
Domestic Violence
A domestic assault allegation can cost you your home, your firearms, and contact with your children before the case is ever tried. We defend the charge and the order of protection together, challenge accounts that do not hold up, and work to uncover the full story in situations where emotions are running high.
Stealing Offenses
Missouri prosecutes these as stealing, and whether it lands as a misdemeanor or a felony often depends on a value figure nobody has tested. Shoplifting, stealing, and burglary all fall here. Intent is frequently assumed rather than proven, and for a first offense, diversion or an amended charge is often within reach.
Property Crimes
Property damage, tampering with a motor vehicle, trespass, and related charges. These cases tend to rest on assumptions about who did what, and on repair estimates that deserve a second look. Restitution is usually the State’s real interest, which leaves room to negotiate an outcome that keeps your record clean.
